I should have read this one a long time ago since the two main characters turn up in the Weather Warden books. The setting is the same as the Weather Warden books and you do see some people from those books but mostly it is about Cassiel a Djinn that was stripped of her powers and now lives as a human. She must feed off of wardens but she also does amp their powers by returning some of the power taken. The book is very much a fish out of water story with Cassiel trying to be human and not always getting it right. Her first partner is murdered and she hooks up with his brother to find his niece that was kidnapped. A new big bad gets introduced but very curious as to see where all this will end and how much it will mesh with the other series.
