missingvolume Turns out this was a fairy tale retelling of a story I had never read. Thanks to the internet and other people spotting the tale it was based on I now have a new fairy tale to read. The book is another light read retelling of a fairy tale set in an alternate UK on the brink of WW2. The plus side of reading this is I now want to reread some of the other books because I was thinking some of them might be out of order in the way I remember reading them. Not like reading this series is a real hardship. The nice thing about them is yes it is a series but you really don't have to read them in order at all.
