#15 Mona Lisa Darkening by Sunny

I started this because of the fans of Anne Bishop complaining that it was a rip off of that series. So I read them both and yea you can see the similarity. These books are a pared down version of the Black Jewel books. The plots are so light and stripped down that I finished this in about record time. At some point I'll read the next one but I will not be running down to the store to get the next one.

wait, how does 'the plot is stripped down from the black jewels trilogy' work? no pseudo-vampire ruling class? no magic? no horrific blase-ness of the ruling elite over forced sexual slavery and abuse? or is it all *there*, just hinted at, more than in your face?

No medieval setting all modern times and the simpering heroine who is so plain by being a half breed treats everyone wonderfully and they all fall in love with her including the Lord of Hell. And the the pseudo vampires are rich but they are not the ruling class.
