 I had read this so many years ago I couldn't remember the main plot but I could remember some of the window dressing to the story.  I liked the alien culture mostly because there is so little the reader knows about it. What I really didn't like was the main character, he was just a total ass and I didn't think had any redeeming traits. I will read more in the series if the main character isn't in the next book.
