Swords of Haven: The Adventures of Hawk & Fisher vol 1

This is a 3 in 1 volume done by Simon Green. I've only read one of his books before and that was years ago but I had heard good things about him.

This book contained the 3 novels Hawk & Fisher, Winner Take All, and The God Killer. It made for a rather large pb. All of these adventures are more mystery driven. Not sure if it is me but I seem to be reading more stuff with a mystery bent to them. The series is entertaining but I have no real affection for the main characters so I doubt I will read the next 3 in 1 unless I get it cheap at some point.

The books were not bad just not awesome.

Yes, you really have to be in the right mood for them. _I_ like Hawk and Fisher (as characters), but they do tend to be a bit OTT with the violence. The rest of the series is much the same; until you get to 'Beyond the Blue Moon', which takes them back to their roots. It's a much bigger novel; about the same size, on it's own, as the 1st 3 novels combined. It clears up a few mysteries & is probably the best in the series.

I've read Blue Moon Rising many years ago and liked it. I've had the "suprise" in the Beyond the Blue Moon "ruined" for me by a review somewhere.

Who knows maybe I just wasn't in the mood for it.
