This is a great short story collection of stories all set in Kage's Company Universe. Some of the stories were later threaded into the book , The Children of the Company, in a slightly revised format. There is something about the Company universe that I really like but I can't just say it is one thing. The anthology is a good jumping off into the series if someone was looking at trying her out otherwise I would start reading the books in the published order.
